Joseph Angel Jaramillo-Garcia was born in Carlsbad on Aug. 17, 1993, to Jose L. Garcia and Cathy Ann Jaramillo-Garcia. He was raised and educated in Carlsbad, and was currently a sophomore in the Phoenix Program. Joseph was a natural at roller blading and skating. He spent many hours around his home and at the Riverwalk Recreation Center developing and perfecting those talents. The staff at the recreation center grew very fond of him, and thoroughly enjoyed watching his interactions with his brother and friends whether they were blading, boarding or playing football or basketball. Joseph was often referred to as a little brother to his fellow classmates because of his youthful looks. He will always be remembered as a loving, caring person that enjoyed being with family and friends. He was a member of San Jose Catholic Church. Joseph went to be with our Lord on Monday, Oct. 13, 2008.
Joseph is preceded in death by his brother Jose L. Garcia, Jr., his grandfather Tereso Garcia and a cousin Markie Angel Jaramillo.
Joseph is survived by his parents, Jose L. and Cathy Ann Garcia and his brother Julius Alexis Garcia of Carlsbad, grandparents Manuel and Janie Jaramillo of Odessa, Texas, and Maria Garcia of Pecos, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Manuel Jaramillo, Jacob Jaramillo, James Bailey, Julian Garcia, Damon Palomino and Ray Garcia.

Cathy & Family, Im so very sorry about your loss, I can only imagine what you and your family are going through. I did not know Joseph very well but my son did. Will Bennett is my son it broke my heart to have to tell him his friend was gone. Our heart and thought go out to all of Joseph's Family and Friends!!!

My name is Maribel Escareno and i was a student with Joseph at the Phioenix Program,I really didnt talk to him much but just knowing that he was a student that went to the same school hurts. I fill for the parents alot, but now all we have are just the memories to remember of him, and to know that he is in a better place and that one day we will all be where he is know. We are sorry for your loss. My son is a dear friend of Joseph, he met him at the skate park and become friends right away. My son speaks of him so kindly and says he was a funny little guy. It has been hard for him but he will get thru just like you will get thru. You carry such a burden please now that there is alot of us out there that care for you and your family so please release some of that burden to our shoulders. our prayers our hearts are with you and your family forever and always. may god bless you all in this time.

We did not know Joseph. However our children did. There were many times that our youngest daughter would come home talking about him saying he was really nice to her and even our youngest son would say the same thing. We are very sorry for your loss. We just want you to know that we have you and your family in our prayers. Just know that he is in a peaceful place and is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Joseph was a fun person to be around he was always class clown and made fun of people but torwards the end we all laughed. I member when i first met him in the 6th grade he was always making mrs. nelson mad. Then in 7th grade i member the good old times when he came to my house and broke my little tree. Kristina and I sneakin out to go to Tim's house to go see them and hang out he always made me laugh even when i was down i'll miss him. I'll love and miss u :( see you soon RIP?

I'm so sorry for Joseph's death, i had him in 6th and 7th grade. He always made me laugh and i thought he was annoyingly funny. He was always making Mrs. Corona mad with his babytalk he did. He was the one that gave my friend like her first black eye because he was rushing to art. We forgave him. He will always be remembered.

Joseph Garcia what can i say! He was a good friend I've known since 6th grade. He was funny, someone who could make you laugh if you were having a crappy day. I had all kinds of classes with him Arts, Tech Lab, History, and skated with him to and more! I will miss him alot, and he will be in my heart forever. Some how I wish we could take this week back and prevent this from ever happening. He will be missed by his friends and family dearly. I am sorry for the loss to us all.
