Robert Ray Galindo, 53, of Curry RD, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at his home. Condolences may be expressed at westfuneralhomellc.com Robert Ray Galindo was born on September 18, 1963 to Baltazar P. Galindo and Lupe (Dorado) Galindo. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1982. While in school Robert enjoyed playing different sports and hanging out with his friends. He especially loved riding his motorcycle with his favorite cousin, Phil. Robert had a variety of interests and worked at many different kinds of jobs, such as a welder, welder's helper, oil field worker, miner, maintenance man, restaurant cook, waiter, dishwasher, Landlord and landscaping. His greatest passion was to help those in need; young, elderly, middle-aged, prosperous, disadvantaged, homeless, loners, disabled, unpopular, alcoholics and the misunderstood – all of which he identified himself with. He always tried his hardest at trying to please family members and friends he looked up to and admired for their exemplary character traits and qualities. He was never satisfied with his best efforts even when performed to near perfect quality. Robert also enjoyed reading, writing, watching and going to the movies, collecting antique items, and working at "the Land" every year to help his mom plant a chile garden and other vegetables. He volunteered his free time to different church organizations and assistance programs such as Jonah's House Food Pantry and Transitional Housing. Robert was very proud of his son Robbie and daughters Sarah and Haily, all of whom he loved immensely. His biggest regret was not being the greatest father he thought they deserved and strived all of his life to always give them what they needed, wanted and wished for. Robert is preceded in death by his father; granddaughter Paris; maternal grandparents Jesus and Josefina Dorado and paternal grandparents Marcos and Luz Galindo. Robert is survived by his children: Sarah, Robbie and Haily: granddaughter London; mother Lupe Galindo; brothers: Joel, Danny and Val Peter and sister Brenda and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Pallbearers will be his son Robbie Galindo, best friends John Lopez and James Shipp and treasured cousins, Joe, Patrick and Felis Dorado.
