My deepest condolences to Mrs. Sneed. I was a JROTC student at Lane Tech from 1997-2001. I had the honor of meeting your husband during that time. Words cannot express how much of an impact Robert Sneed had on my life. He is without a doubt a major reason why my friends and I joined the Armed Forces. I actually think I dreamt of him not so long ago. It's really sad to hear that he passed. Even sadder is the way he passed. As I get older, I find it hard to remember certain things.... People, names, certain memories. But looking back at high school, I have strong resonant memories of Ltc. Sneed. I remember his mannerisms, his walk, his voice, even the features of his hands. I even remember his quirks.... Like putting his keys in his back pocket and sitting on them. Who does that?? Every once in a while I put my keys in my back pocket and sit on them by accident... And when I do, I chuckle and think of ol' Bob Sneed. He was a great man to know and to have learned from. My only regret is that I didn't meet him now.... When I could have really appreciated his stories and his experiences. Wherever he is now, I'm sure he's happy and smiling. And I'm sure he still kinda has that southern twang....."N-n-n-now, now, Mr. Cervantes we gotta get this right!" Rest in Peace Bob.

Dear Nancy, I send my condolences to you and your family and to Bob's mother and his siblings. I know this is a time of major transition for everyone and I am holding all of you in my thoughts and prayers. Bob will live on in my heart and memories. He was a special friend to all in “our gang” at CHS in the late 50s. It is no surprise that Bob had a loving family and successful career. May you be well. May you be comforted by loving memories. With love and compassion, Mary Kay
