Dwayne Chapin Obituary
He passed on July 28, 2023, at the Halifax Medical Center in Daytona, Fla. at age 60.
He made his First Communion at St. Joseph's in 1969 and his Confirmation at St. Joseph's in 1981.
He attended Broken Bow Schools and graduated in 1981 and then attended Southeast Community College. There he received an associate degree in electrical technology in 1983.
Dwayne loved water sports, playing pool, driving fast, motorcycles and spending time with friends and family.
He traveled to Hawaii, Arizona and Nebraska before he landed in Florida. In the Daytona area, he met the love of his life, Patricia Humphrey. They lived together for 16 years. They ended up in Port Orange, Fla.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; Uncle Garry; Uncle Dean; Aunt and Uncle Patti; Jerry Jacquot; and cousins Melissa Riehl and Trevor Haller.
Dwayne is survived by mother Bonnie; sister Addy (Jeff) Catlett; niece Desarae; nephew Joseph; Aunt Gaylene Amm; cousins Brenda (Brent) and Stacy (Stephanie); Uncle Gene (Lola) Chapin; Uncle Jim (Deb) Chapin; many cousins; and special friend Patricia Humphrey, the love of his life.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, Aug. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Broken Bow with Father Jim Hunt celebrant. The service will be livestreamed at www.govierbrothers.com.
Rosary will be Monday, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 6, from 4 - 6 p.m., with family greeting at that time at Govier Brothers Mortuary.
Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangement.

I met Dwayne on my first day of my junior year at BBHS, and always thought highly of him. Dwayne had a way of simply putting one at ease as he was always friendly with folks. I'll never forget when he told me we shared the same Aunt and Uncle (Jerry and Patti Jacquot)! I thought he was pulling my leg until my Aunt Patti confirmed it, and after that Dwayne would rib me about not believing him. At that point I considered him family. I never had the opportunity to see him or any of my classmates after high school but often thought of Dwayne. My sympathies to his immediate and extended family but rest in knowing he did have a positive impact on those around him and as a fellow Catholic am certain he's doing the same in Heaven.

Even though the late 70’s & early 80’s passed by many years ago, we’ll always remember the many memories both Russ & I shared with Dwayne while together at BBHS.
