Eric Reinhard Obituary

Eric Todd Reinhard was born Aug. 22, 1966 in Broken Bow, Neb. to parents Jerry and Jean Reinhard. He was raised on a farm with three brothers, Scot, Mark and Kent, and one sister, Robyn.

Eric attended a one-room country school from kindergarten through eighth grade before attending high school in Broken Bow. In high school, he enjoyed playing sports like basketball and football.

Upon graduation in 1985 he was recruited by Tom Osborne to play football at the University of Nebraska. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in education. He taught at Lincoln Christian High School in Lincoln as a history teacher.

Eric expressed an interest in returning to farming and relocated to Broken Bow where he purchased a home and spent many years helping his dad on the farm and working in various agricultural related businesses (farm implement dealership, agricultural seed products, heavy equipment sales) as a salesmen.

Eric's deep faith life led him on many mission trips to Europe, Asia and Africa and a relocation to Colorado Springs, Colo. There he met and married Cindy Benjamin and adopted her son, Darien. Together Eric and Cindy have two more children, Elora Jade, 11, and Logan Burke, 9. Eric's employment ventures led him and his family to relocate to Albuquerque, N.N., where they soon purchased a home in Rio Rancho.

Throughout his life, Eric maintained a strong interest in history, including World War II, collecting memorabilia and following the ups and downs of his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers. Throughout his life his primary passion was sharing his faith and love of Jesus Christ with everyone he met.

Eric died peacefully May 13, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father Jerry Reinhard; mother, Jean Reinhard; brother Scot Reinhard; and brother David Reinhard.

Eric is survived by sons Darien and Logan; daughter Elora; brother and sister-in-law Mark and Kim Reinhard of Hastings; brother and sister-in-law Kent and Theresa Reinhard of Bennet; sister and brother-in-law Robyn and Phill Carter of Laporte, Colo.; nephew Josh and Emily Reinhard of Hastings; nephew Brant and Michelle Reinhard of Omaha; niece Emily and Mike Vantine of Lincoln; nephew Joe and Brook Reinhard of Lincoln; nephew Hobbes Logan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; niece Whitney and Chris Till of Yellow Springs, Ohio; and many great-nieces and great- nephews.

Heartbreaking. Eric encouraged all of us younger kids at Tappan Valley to be better to each other. He had such a kind heart for others. Prayers for his family and all that knew him. We were all blessed to know him.
