Jennifer Klanecky Obituary

Jennifer L. "Jenni" Klanecky, 40, of St. Paul, Neb., died unexpectedly, Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024, at Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul.

Jenni was born Nov. 4, 1984, at Broken Bow, the daughter of Tom and Janie (Olson) Christen. She grew up on the family ranch east of Anselmo, attended Anselmo-Merna Public Schools and was a 2003 graduate of Anselmo-Merna High School.

She then attended UNK and later UNMC where she received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing in 2007. After graduation she moved to Grand Island where she worked at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was united in marriage to Jamie L. Klanecky on Sept. 12, 2009, at St. Anselm's Catholic Church in Anselmo. The couple first lived in Grand Island and, later that year, they moved to St. Paul.

Jenni worked for Internal Medicine in Grand Island and, in June, 2015, she began working at Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul where she held various positions and was currently the manager of chronic care.

She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, its CCW and was also very involved in rural health care in Nebraska. She was active in her children's school activities by helping with the annual "Roar Run," PTO and Wildcat Booster Club.

Jenni enjoyed camping, boating, baking, playing volleyball and coaching her children in sports. She also liked cows, walking her dogs - Jax, Sadie and Cooper - shopping and dancing in the kitchen with Jamie. She dearly loved her husband, kids, family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Jamie and children Madison, Jace and Josey Klanecky, all of St. Paul; parents Tom and Janie Christen of Anselmo; grandmother Ruby "Toots" Christen of Broken Bow; brothers and spouses Joshua and Jamie Christen of Merna and Wade and Afton Christen and Waylon and Lanay Christen, all of Anselmo; in laws Jim and Brenda Klanecky of St. Paul; brothers-in-law and spouses Travis and Kelly Klanecky of Wood River and Brett and Catherine Klanecky of St. Libory; grandparents-in-law, Dennis and Dera Klanecky of St. Paul, Tom Stanczyk of Ashton and Peggy and Dan Morrow of Ashton; and 13 nieces and nephews Jackson, Bryce, Easton, Claire, Cash, Kate, Beau and Quinn Christen and Ethan, Ali, Carter, Calvin and Colton Klanecky.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents David Christen and Marion "Pooch" and Elaine Olson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. Revs. Vince Parsons, Alex Borzych, and James Hunt will concelebrate the Mass and will be assisted by Deacon Neil Baquet and Deacon Candidate Phil Lukasiewicz. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.

Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 2, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Life Center from 4 to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Rosary at the church.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are suggested to the family to establish a nursing scholarship in Jenni's name.
