James Franklin Berry, II

James Franklin Berry (64) Of Charlottesville Virginia, departed this life on July 15th 2025 at Amelia Health & Hospice. Born November 3rd 1960 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville Virginia, he was the son of Josephine Elizabeth Clifton Vest Thomas of Charlottesville, and James Berry Sr. of Charlottesville. James was a graduate of Charlottesville High School and went on to establish his own Painting business which he took pride and joy in along with his own cab with the Charlottesville yellow cab service. He leaves to cherish in his loving memory his beloved mother, Josephine Vest, his wife Vernale Berry; his son Rico Berry of Charlottesville; his daughter, Angela Blue Berry of Oxon Hill, Maryland; his aunt & uncle Sampson Thomas and his wife Venita Thomas of Charlottesville; his beloved brothers & sisters, Keith Ray Berry of Charlottesville, Lisa Marie Hunter and her fiance George McCloud of Charlottesville, William Clifton and his wife Sherry Washington of Nelson County, VA, Donna Nadien Clifton Thomas (Babysitter) of Charlottesville. Along with his nephews & niece, Chrishawna Marie Hunter of Virginia Beach, VA, Rico Antonio Harris & his wife DeNika Harris of Charlottesville, Dustin Terrell Thomas and his partner Nicholas Cochran of Charlottesville, and a host of other relatives including his four grandchildren. A special thanks to the nurses and doctors who took care of our beloved Jimmy during his health battles, including The UVA GI Team & The Amhelia health & Rehab center along with the members of The Charlottesville Fire Department and The Charlottesville Albemarle Rescue Squad who were always there when Jimmy needed them the most. Also a special thanks to the Amelia Health and Rehab staff, alongside the James River Hospice Care Team. The family ask that you join us for a celebration of life to be held July 29th 2025 at 1:00pm at Zion Union Baptist Church 1015 Preston Ave, Charlottesville Virginia; with the Pastor Ken Edwards delivering the service, light refreshments and beverages will be provided afterwards.
