Judith Magee Obituary
Judy was born in Pendleton County, KY on June 4, 1932. Being one of seven siblings born to John and Daisy Moreland. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mildred (Cleva) Harper, Jane (George) Beadle, Doris (Gordon) Miles, Wilma Joyce (Bob) Stewart; two brothers, Raymond (Wanda) Moreland and Melvin (Janette) Moreland.
Judy made Cynthiana, KY her permanent home in 1965 and was a loving friend to many and well known in her neighborhood for being an excellent cook who often shared her delicious food with her neighbors and friends. Her famous rum cake was always a hit. Her family knew her as the Mom or Mamaw who always had an ice cream cone and cookie for her little friends, or a coconut cream pie baked for the big kids.
She absolutely loved music and playing her piano whether it was the old-time favorite hymns or country music favorites. Holidays were always more joyful with those fun sing-alongs in her living room.
Judy is survived by her husband, Davis Magee; three children, Patty Lawson (Alex) Manzano, Pam Lawson (Joe) Laytart, Scott (Tender) Turner and a bonus son Allan (Bridgett) Magee. She was grieving the loss of her son, Michael (Yvonne) Turner, who recently preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 2021.
She leaves behind 18 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
Her final care has been entrusted to Ware Funeral Home of Cynthiana, KY where her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. with Brother Wayne Tolson officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Battle Grove Cemetery.

My heart with soulful prayers goes out to this Dear Ladie's Family. I had the wonderful pleasure to know this kindest Lady and be the beneficiary of her loving ways. Those attributes are well demonstrated in two of her children that I have been blessed to associate with. A special bonus is I not only have tasted that amazing Rum Cake, but Judy, in typical generous fashion, gave me a copy of her recipe. Love to all her Family.
