Larry Judy Obituary
He was born in Harrison County, Sept. 10, 1936 to the late Harry Morgan Judy and Anna Claugh McCauley Judy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Clara Lou "Ludy" McGinley Judy.
Larry graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, held a civil engineering license in both Kentucky and Ohio, was the owner and operator of Judy Construction Company since 1974 and was a member of Cynthiana Christian Church. Mr. Judy farmed and worked as a laborer on the reconstruction of Republican Pike (KY 392). In 1956, he entered the University of Kentucky majoring in Agriculture Economics and later changing to Civil Engineering. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in January 1961 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering with Structural Option.
While at UK he worked part time at the Kentucky Department of Transportation Bridge Design office located in Anderson Hall. In May of 1974 he entered into a partnership with Charles T. Martin in Cynthiana. Martin & Judy, Inc. was in business until 1978 when Mr. Martin sold his interest to Mr. Judy. Soon after, the name was changed to Judy Construction Company. He served on the Paris YMCA Board of Directors; served as Chairman of the Harrison Memorial Hospital Board; was past Chairman of the Kentucky Highway Contractors Association and past Chairman of the Associated General Contractors of Kentucky.
He is survived by his sons, L. Morgan (Nora) Judy of Lexington and Steven Crawford (Sherry) Judy of Cynthiana, Ky.; a special cousin, Charlene (Jerry) Dawson; and six grandchildren, Joshua Stuart Judy, Elizabeth Morgan Judy, Lance Taylor (Charli) McIlvain, Nicholas Tucker Judy, Steven Russell "Russ" Judy, and Jack Crawford Judy.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5 at Cynthiana Christian Church by Dr. Larry Bishop with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cynthiana Christian Church Building Fund, Alzheimer's Association, 6100 Dutchmans Lane Suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205 or Bluegrass Care Navigators, 1317 U.S. Hwy. 62 East, Cynthiana, KY 41031.
Active pallbearers will be Joshua, Lance, Tucker, Russ, Jack and Jerry Dawson.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family as they grieve over the loss of their father and grandfather. I thought a lot of both your parents.Grief lessens with time but never goes away.I wanted to come to the services but I have a procedure scheduled at UKMC on Monday.
