Ruth Poynter Obituary

Ruth Geraldine ""Gerri"" Poynter, 97, wife of the late Lloyd V. Poynter passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022 at Baptist Health Lexington. She was born Oct. 28, 1924 in Harrison County to the late Milton and Delilah Criswell Carr.
She was a longtime member of Benson United Methodist Church and a retired employee of Standard Products in Lexington.
Survivors include: her daughter, Donna (Harold) Harpe of Lexington; two grandsons, Danny Harpe and Brian Poynter; along with a great-granddaughter, Kelly Danielle Harpe.
Also preceding her in death were her son, James Milton ""Buddy"" Poynter; a grandson, Robert Lloyde Harpe and her brother, Dr. Martin Carr.
Graveside services by the Rev. Ronald Harpe will be conducted Friday, Jan. 14 at 1 p.m. in Battle Grove Cemetery. Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Benson United Methodist Church.
