ARTHUR OVERLEE Obituary

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – Arthur Wayne Overlee, 88, of Englewood, formerly of DeKalb, Ill., Palm Desert, Calif., and Johnson City, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Julia Temple Nursing Center in Englewood. He was born on Feb. 18, 1924, in Sycamore, the son of Almond and Hazel (Bristol) Overlee.
Arthur was united in marriage to the former Ruth Feder Brooks on Dec. 31, 1965, and they spent the next 39 happy years together until her passing on Dec. 31, 2004. He was a loving husband, stepfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Overlee was a member of First United Methodist Church in Johnson City. Arthur served his country proudly as a member of the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was very diverse in his accomplishments. Arthur was a Hollywood and stage actor, postal worker, chef, restaurant owner and real estate broker.
He is survived by his stepson, James Brooks; stepson-in-law, Kenneth L. Pickerill; sister-in-law, Jean Overlee; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Almond and Hazel Overlee; wife, Ruth Overlee; stepdaughter, Jacqueline Pickerill; sisters, Rhea Overlee Henigan and Evelyn Overlee Henigan; and brother, Cliff Overlee.
A private interment took place in Pearce Cemetery, Oswego.
