Barbara Elaine Danielsen

Died: Feb. 12, 2016

Barbara Elaine Danielsen, age 82, of Sycamore, Illinois passed away peacefully February 12, 2016, at home surrounded by her loving family after a long illness.

A lifelong resident of Sycamore, Barbara was born September 7, 1933, to Marguerite (Reynolds) Fry and Homer Cady. Barbara was united in marriage to Edward F. Danielsen Sr. in December of 1952 and spent the next 52 years of their lives together until his passing in February of 2005. Barbara was employed many years at Turner Brass Company in Sycamore until her retirement. In the 1960's she was an active member of the Sycamore Kitchen Band. She was a member of the Sycamore VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the Sycamore Moose Club. During her retirement she spent many hours researching decades of family through genealogy and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was an expert gardener and enjoyed cooking with family and making crafts. She loved the Lord and was proud of the American flag and our American Veterans. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her five daughters, Ellen (Bob) Hawley, Carol Warber, Jeanne (Ric) Anderson, Georgia Danielsen, and Lene' Knitter; two sons, Kenneth Danielsen and Edward Danielsen Jr.; grandchildren, Michele Fettke, Heather Arcega, Joshua and Christopher Hawley, Joshua, Ryan, Nicholas, and Dane Anderson, Lyndsey, Jayce, and Kyle Knitter, and Jakob Kaelin; step-grandchild, Elena Fajardo; great-grandchildren, Anthony Arcega, Bryson Long, Ian and Anakah Pascual, Brayden Fettke, Kentaro Hawley, Nathan Hawley, Madison, Nicolas, Michael Zambrano; and great-great-grandchild, Julian Arcega; sisters, Betty Carter and Rosemary Frangella; one niece, two nephews, and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marguerite and Homer; husband, Edward; and infant son, Michael Lloyd; infant grandchild, Anja Anderson; and son-in-law, Dale Warber.

Funeral service will be at 1 pm Wednesday, February 17, 2016, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd., Quiram Sycamore Chapel, 1245 Somonauk Street, with Rev. Janet Hunt officiating. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1 pm Wednesday, February 17, 2016, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to KishHealth Systems Hospice, 2727 Sycamore Road, DeKalb, IL, 60115.
