As former residents of Big Rock and Plowing Match volunteers, we were fortunate to cross paths many times with Bernice & Loraine. Their quick wit, giving nature, and dedication to community put them on pedestals we can only hope to strive to one day achieve.

Mrs Thomas was a good teacher, fierce and no nonsense when I was younger - funny and charming as I matured. She taught my brothers and me. She was a teacher from the old school. Bless her.

I served with Bernice on the Kane Co. Womens Commitee for several years. She was truly a dedicated person to trying
to educate our children and grandchildren about Agriculture and where their food comes from.
She will be greatly missed

I remember that my Aunt Bernice bought me my outfit for my nursing pinning in college, and she had a great laugh. She always remembered my birthday every year, and I will miss her stout and kind heart. Lisa Schicht niece.
