Died: January 16, 2022
Carmen Robert Protano 73, lifelong resident of DeKalb passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital Emergency Room. He was born August 18, 1948, in DeKalb, IL and was the son of Guido and Robbie (Coulter) Protano.
Carmen graduated from DeKalb High School in 1967 and was a truck driver for JR Protano Trucking.
He is survived by his brother Greg (Joan Watson) Protano of DeKalb. He was preceded in death by his parents, and long-time girlfriend Francine "Frankie" Roberts.
Celebration of life visitation will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022, from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Finch Funeral Home DeKalb. Memorials can be made to the Barn on Baseline Animal Shelter. Cremation was entrusted to Finch Crematory.
Arrangements were entrusted to Finch Funeral Home 310 Oak St. DeKalb, IL 60115 815-758-3841.

JR and my ex were friends through work. JR was a guest at many cookouts at our house in Minooka, IL. So very sad to find out that he passed a couple of years ago. May he be reunited with his parents and Frankie.

The nicest man that I ever met easy going super guy and I thought highly of him would do anything to help anyone rest in peace Jr. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Protano family. Especially Greg stay strong buddy he will be missed by all who knew him.
