Died: December 23, 2020 in Lexington, KY
Charles LeRoy "Chuck" Heath, 80, of Hinkley died after a courageous battle with dementia on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at hospice care in Lexington, KY.
He was born February 28, 1940 in Hinkley, IL; the son of Arthur and Ruth (Johnson) Heath. He grew up on a farm with his two brothers and sister and attended Sycamore but graduated from Hinkley High School. In the 60s, he raced stock cars at Bob Joe Speedway.
Chuck spent nearly 30 years at Duplex Products driving the Duplex truck and working in both the shipping dock and warehouse until it closed in 1996. He also worked at Auto Meter, Ideal and Driv-Lok in Sycamore and the Drawbridge Inn in Fort Mitchell, KY.
He spent most of his time in his garden, tinkering with cars, fixing everything, and taking care of his family. He was an excellent bowler and in many local leagues from the 60s to the 90s.
He was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers Robert "Bob" (Marian) Heath of Sycamore and Ronald Heath of Hinkley. He is survived by a son Charles Edward "Chip" Heath, and a grandchild who he loved very much. He is also survived by his sister Patricia "Pat" (Gary) Howell and numerous nieces and nephews. He was survived by his wife of 56 years Mary (Calvert) Heath until February 24th, 2021.
A graveside service will be on August 1st, 2021 at Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heath Family Memorial fund. https://gofund.me/a3573320
