CHRISTOPHER HALLGREN Obituary
Chris was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and a 1965 graduate of DeKalb Senior High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois, Champaign. He was a longtime resident of Sharbot Lake.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Patty Hallgren; daughter, Janine Hallgren; stepsons, Max and Casey Hendricks; two grandchildren; and many loving foster children that Chris and Patty have cared for through their years together. He also is survived by his brother, Jeff Hallgren of DeKalb; and sisters, Mindy (Hallgren) Ferrell of Trout Creek, Mont., and Laurie (Hallgren) Grant of Lake Lelanau, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Jon Hallgren of Somerset, Wis.; father, Kenneth Ronald Hallgren, and mother, Carol (Shipman) Hallgren, both of DeKalb.
The date of the spring memorial service has yet to be determined in Sharbot Lake.

I second Bill's remarks. When we were growing up at Pine Lake, Chris was a fine leader for us "little kids"...always kind, and fun to be with...a good friend.

When I knew Chris, many years ago at Pine Lake, I enjoyed his smile, laughter, wry sense of humor, and frequent twinkle in his eye. I'm very sorry to hear that he has passed on. My sincere condolences go out to Mindy, Laurie, Jeff, Patty and children.
