Dana Boehm Obituary

Dana K. Boehm

Born: August 7, 1975

Died: November 29, 2020

Dana K. (Robinson) Boehm, 45, passed away on November 29, 2020 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates due to complications of COVID-19.

Dana Kathleen was born August 7, 1975, in DeKalb, Illinois, to Donald Robinson and Sandra (Jacobson) Robinson. She grew up in DeKalb enjoying school, babysitting, playing the violin, tennis and relished in the title of "big sister" to her two younger siblings. She was a 1993 graduate of DeKalb High School and attended Illinois State University where she received her BS in Education. Following graduation, Dana spent one year teaching at an underserved elementary school in South Carolina. Upon returning to Illinois, she continued teaching in the Chicago suburbs. In December of 2003, Dana met the man who would become her best friend and life partner, Jason Boehm. Dana and Jason married on March 21, 2009 at Hillcrest Covenant Church in DeKalb and then settled in Streamwood. Eager to become parents, they started their family right away and were blessed with two beautiful children, Julia in 2010 and Michael in 2011. Dana's new favorite title became "mom" as she stayed at home with them full-time and volunteered at their school.

Dana's bright eyes and warm smile will be missed by many, as will her thoughtfulness and genuine concern for others. Dana always put her family first and was so good to stay connected with everyone. Long phone calls and text exchanges will be missed, as well as birthday cards, which she never failed to send - the envelope always neatly addressed with her distinct bubbly handwriting.

Dana is survived by her husband, Jason Boehm, daughter Julia and son Michael of Streamwood; her father, Don Robinson of East Dundee; her mother, Sandi Robinson of Sycamore; her sister Emily (Jason) Borreca of Tampa and brother David (Kate) Robinson of Sycamore; her grandparents, Lou & Ruth Deprin, of Naperville; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her so much.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of a memorial fund and in honor of Dana's passion for education, Bright Start 529 college savings plans have been established for her two children. Those who wish to make a contribution may contact a family member for more information.

So heartbroken, I can't believe I'm just learning of this now. Miss Dana cared for my daughter at Kinder Care and was one of her favorite teachers. She was always warm and caring to us. She was a great person to my daughter and had a great impact on her formative years. We are so gutted to learn about Miss Dana's passing. May she rest in peace

Dana these words demonstrate you were a beautiful soul. I am sorry for your loss. May Heaven have lots of paper to write your lengthy thoughts and the Angels are never too busy to read them.

Taken too soon as so many others. I hadn't seen Dana since high school but we briefly reconnected online before her wedding. Life is fleeting, prayers for her family, their loss is unimaginable

I am so saddened and heart broken over the passing of my niece but I am comforted in knowing that her wonderful husband, Jason, will be a loving and caring father for Julia and Michael.

She was a lovely sister-in-law and dear friend. Her hugs, laughter, and care for other people were so genuine and warm. I will miss her so, so much.
