Dawn C. Horn, age 62, of DeKalb, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at her home in DeKalb.
She was born December 21, 1952, in Sandwich, the daughter of Earl and Eva (Randolph) Curts.
Dawn was a 1971 graduate of Shabbona High School, and was employed in housekeeping at the DeKalb County Nursing and Rehab Center. She enjoyed going to stock car races, especially dirt track races.
Survivors include a daughter, Diamond (Brian) Laws of Rochelle, and their children, Brianna and Deven; a brother, Wyatt Curts of Malta and Wyatt's son, Kirby, of Champaign; a half-brother, Dennis Johnson; and a sister, Heather Buckwalter of Sterling and Heather's children, Taylor and Logan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Dallas Leighton Horn; and a niece, Justine Curts.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday morning, June 13, 2015, at Jacobson Funeral Home in Shabbona. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Shabbona. Friends may call from 9:30 Saturday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

She was always a lady that showed great strength, smiled through the toughest of times. Amazing courage and determination. She will be missed by several. I'll always remember the laughs we shared.

I remember Dawn from my time at Resource Bank. She was very friendly and always had a smile on her face even when she was having a rough day. She was one of those customers that you looked forward to seeing. My thoughts and prayers to her family and friends.
