Diane was a wonderful neighbor, and it will be difficult coming home and not seeing her walking Noel by the house or working in her beautiful garden. Our condolences to the entire family. She was a bright light and will be missed.

Our condolences to Diane's family. From her days as a high school cheerleader to her efforts in organizing class reunions, Diane represented the spirit of the Class of '55. She will be missed.

Think of all the many friends of Dave through Dawn who walked through the Pevonka door and were greeted by Mrs. Pevo. She always had the smile, the gentile spirit, and kind words. She made you feel part of the family even if your first name didn't begin with a D... not bad for a mother of five kids of her own. Her special effect never ceased. When you saw her after high school, as a young adult, and even into your forties, you'd get that same good-olde feeling you had as a kid. Pevonkas, your mom was special to you and to hundreds of your friends.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. I knew Diane from nurses training as she was 6 months behind me. And as I was from Sycamore I felt a special kinship towards her.
Your mother obviously touched many of us. With her warm smile, and loving personality. And certainly with her brave fight during her illness.
Know that she will live in our memories, and forever have that same smile, and gift of 'love'. May you feel supported in knowing that she did make a difference in this world.

I'll never forget how "at home" your mom made me feel some thirty years ago when I was one of many kids coming through your home. Friday nights, macaroni and cheese, because "no meat", guys going one way, girls another. It was crazy, but yet she maintained this soft, calm, and peaceful demeanor. She was a "pillar" of strength. I was in awe of how she did it! She is truly a Proverbs 31:10 woman. I'm saddened for your loss, but touched at "heaven's gain".

Many close friends of Denise, Diane's Arizona-based daugher, followed every step of Diane's brave and graceful journey during these last months. In so doing, and from hearing Denise's stories about her mom, we came to admire and appreciate how many lives Diane touched and how faithful she was. She will be loved and remembered always and her spirit will continue to guide.

DIANE WAS A VERY "SPECIAL" PERSON TO SO MANY PEOPLE. COMING INTO THE OPERATING ROOM, SHE MET BOTH OF US WITH A SMILE AND SO MUCH REASURRANCE. SHE ALWAYS PUT HER PATIENTS AT EASE. HER GENUINE KINDNESS SHINED THROUGH TO EVERYONE SHE TOUCHED. OUR HEARTFELT SYMPATHY GOES OUT TO ALL OF HER CHILDREN AND FAMILY. LANCE & KATHY FARRIS

Diane touched me initially through her daughter Denise who reflects her mothers's spirit. Diane's touch became direct as I got to know her over the years during her trips to visit Denise in Arizona. Even though the time I spent with her in person was limited she made a difference in my life by always demonstrating a humble, loving and caring spirit.

We were so sorry to hear the news of Diane's passing yesterday. My daughter spent lots of time at my folks' house just down the street and considered Diane a second grandma, especially during those long, summer days. She was a great, brave woman who will be missed by so many!
