Donald G. Schroeder, 89, of DeKalb died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Kishwaukee Hospital.
He was born April 23, 1925, in Little Falls, MN. He was the son of Harry and Delphia (Tedford) Schroeder. He married Claren Andersen in Long Prairie, MN. Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Air Corp. He graduated from the University of Minnesota, with his Bachelors degree. He was the vice president of Interstate Power Company for 42 years. His member of the Sycamore United Methodist Church and the Sycamore Rotary International.
Survivors include his wife, Claren of DeKalb; one daughter, Joanne Tallon of DeKalb; three grandchildren, Steven (Shannon) Tallon of Elgin, Michele (Jordan) Munson of Elgin and Bradley Tallon of Denver, CO; one brother, Robert (Pat) Schroeder of Little Falls, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Jan; and one sister, Betty.
His Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 1st from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Sycamore United Methodist Church, with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Harlene Harden officiating. A Chapel Service will be on Thursday, April 2nd at 12:00 p.m. at the Linwood Cemetery in Dubuque, IA, with Rev. Okitakoyi Lundula, Pastor of St. Luke's Methodist Church in Dubuque officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Sycamore United Methodist Church or St. Luke's Methodist Church in Dubuque, IA, in care of the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL 60178.
