Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Sauber, 98, of Sycamore, Ill., died Sunday, June 15, 2025, at The Grand Victorian in Sycamore.
Born April 11, 1927, in Clare, Ill, the daughter of Clarence Rich and Nettie Wallace, Elizabeth married Edward Sauber on October 23, 1948, in Virgil, Ill. She was a member of The Church of St. Mary in Sycamore.
She and her husband owned Ben Hur Restaurant in Sycamore. She was a volunteer for DeKalb County Hospice and a member of the Kishwaukee Ladies Auxiliary. She delivered Meals on Wheels and was a Eucharistic Minister going to hospitals and nursing homes well into her 90's.
An avid hostess and entertainer, Liz was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. Above all, Liz enjoyed playing cards and traveling with friends and family.
Elizabeth is survived by her brother John Rich; son-in-law, Mark Arends; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Craig) Davis, Christopher Arends, Milly (Ian) Segovia; her great-granddaughter, Carmen Segovia; and her many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Edward Sauber; son, Jay Sauber; daughter, Linda Arends; and three brothers, Allen, Clark, and Clarence.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, June 23, 2025, at The Church of St. Mary, 244 Waterman St., Sycamore, IL 60178, with Visitation from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Olson's Quiram Sycamore Chapel, 1245 Somonauk St., Sycamore, IL 60178.
A private burial for family will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Sycamore after the luncheon.
The family thanks the staff at Unity Hospice for their compassionate care of Liz.
