Ivan M. Olsen
Born: November 11, 1942
Died: February 11, 2025
Ivan M. Olsen, 82, of Sycamore, died February 11, 2025 at The Grove of Fox Valley in Aurora.
He was born on November 11, 1942 in Aurora to Oliver Stanley and Lillian (Mensing) Olsen. He married Carol A. Fuller on September 15, 1962.
Ivan was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1960-1964. He was employed as a pressman for Data Documents in Crystal Lake and farmed the Dayton Farm on Old State Road for many years.
He loved to hunt, fish and go trap shooting. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his children, Pam Olsen (the late Gary Young), Raymond (Susan) Olsen and Scott (Annie) Olsen; 8 grandchildren, Melissa, Kristina, Eroica, Krysta, Jessica, Tara, Rebecca and Jason; and 8 great grandchildren, Abigail, Brecken, Maxwell, Naomi, Trinity, Olivia, Piper and Adam.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol; one son, Andrew Olsen and his brother, Raymond Olsen.
His visitation will be on Sunday, February 16th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. His funeral service will be on Monday, February 17th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery with full military rites.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) in care of the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. 60178.
