James "Jim" Loy Davidson, 78 of Kingston, IL went to be with his Heavenly Father on October 30, 2015.

Jim was born November 18, 1936, to Kenneth E. & Myrtle (Loy) Davidson. He was the 4th of 7 children in the Davidson Family. Jim began his formal learning at the Watson Grade School in Watson, IL and graduated from Effingham High School in 1954 completing his K-12 education.

Jim married the love of his life, Mary Ann Jorgensen on March 12, 1955 in Sycamore, IL. To this union were born 3 sons. James "Jim" Loy (Sonja Jean) Davidson II of Effingham, IL, William "Bill" Joseph (Connie) Davidson of Stillman Valley, IL and Robert "Bob" Eugene and (Mary Ann) Davidson of Kingston, IL.

Jim worked as a Tool and Die Maker in Genoa, IL for 39 years. His love of the outdoors, sports and family filled his every waking moment. True and loyal describes Jim's love of his beloved Chicago Cubs. He pitched fast pitch softball up into his 40's. Jim was known by many names such as: coach, scorekeeper, teacher, youth leader, mentor and fisherman, but the ones he loved the most were Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa and friend.

Jim is survived by his wife, 3 sons, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Alvin Davidson of Marion, IL, Lawrence Arthur and Evea Davidson of Altamont, IL, Phillip and Kim Davidson of Downey, CA; sisters, Martha (Harold) Neal of Downey CA, June Ashley of Watson, IL, Alice (Jerry) Frailey of Beecher City, IL

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 1 grandson, Jonathan Davidson (1982).

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2015, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Cooper-Quiram Chapel, 202 E. Main Street, Genoa, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere, IL.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of America, 3815 N. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL.

I remember Jim as a loving husband and father. He was always so proud of his family. Jim had a beautiful soul. Praying that you find peace in your memories.

Jim was a wonderful neighbor and friend. He loved seeing my granddaughter and always said Hi to my dog Jax. He was a loving husband,father and friend. God Bless.
