JAMES WISTED Obituary

James R. "Jim" Wisted, 58, of DeKalb, Ill., passed away Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at home.
Born April 10, 1952, in DeKalb, the son of Robert D. and Annabea (Pinkston) Wisted, Jim worked at Northern Illinois University in the Building Services Department for more than 30 years. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in DeKalb, a former member of the DeKalb Kiwanis Club, and attended the Citizens Police Academy run by the DeKalb County Sherriff.
He is survived by his two brothers, David (Alicia) Wisted of West Chicago and Daniel (Kathy) Wisted of Alpharetta, Ga.; eight nieces and nephews, Courtney and Jordan Rogers, Taylor, Cooper and Tori Wisted and Morgan, Colin and Madison Wisted; brother-in-law, Rick (Mary Ann) Rogers of DeKalb; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jolynn Rogers in 2005 and Julayne in infancy; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 S. Fourth St., DeKalb, with the Rev. Brian Gilbert of First United Methodist Church in DeKalb officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Anderson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the James R. Wisted Memorial Fund for the Jolynn Rogers Education Scholarship in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, DeKalb, IL 60115.

I have had Jim as a freind for 15 years and many good times together. He stoped by my house July 17-18 on his way back for Florida. Im so glad we had those days together. I will miss him. May he rest in Peace

MY DEEEPEST , PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE FAMILY, AND FRIENDS. JIM WAS A VERY GOOD FRIEND OF MINE, ; WAS JUST IN FLORDIA TO SEE ME,JULY 10 FOR A WEEK . I GOT SICK FRIDAY NIGHT , WAS VERY UPSET ,I WAS SICK ;WAS IN THE HOSPIAL FIVES DAYS. I COULD' NOT SHOW HIM AROUND ......SAY GOOD-DAY ,JIM SAID BE BACK AGAIN,,,,I SAID WILL BE IN ILLINIOS , OCT PICK ME AT THE AIRPORT.......I REALLY HAD A GOOD PERSON TO LOSE AS HE WAS ONLY 58 , ME 69 ....MAY HE REST IN PEACE.....I HAVE ANOTHER ONE HELPS ME FROM HEAVEN.!!

I only got to know Jim in the last 8 months or so while he worked in our building. He seemed like such a gentle soul and always had a smile. He will be missed. My thoughts are with his family.
