Died: March 8, 2015

Joyce H. Erickson, 78, formerly of Seabord, North Carolina, Sycamore, Illinois, Houston and Katy, Texas and Lexington, Kentucky passed away peacefully of complications from Alzheimer's on March 8, 2015.

Joyce was born on September 20, 1936, in Seabord, North Carolina, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Hyde) Harris. Throughout her life, Joyce was a loving and devoted mother and friend to many. Those closest to her remember her quick wit, cheerful outlook and desire to help anyone she could. She enjoyed golf, gardening and trips and visits with her children and grandchildren.

While in Sycamore, she worked as an administrative assistant at Sycamore High School. She moved to Houston, Texas in 1980 and spent over 20 years at Conoco in the Exploration Production Technology department.

She is survived by her children, Debi Erickson (Mike Fried), Kim (Stan) Gladbach of Algonquin, IL and Sean Erickson; and their father, Richard Erickson; her grand-daughters, Caitlin and Bethany Gladbach; her brothers, Joseph Harris, Charles (Faye) Harris and Thad (Melinda) Harris; her sister, Madge Harris; numerous nieces and nephews and her loving rescue cat, Millie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Laura Harlan.

A private ceremony celebrating her life will be held in Nags Head, NC. Care Cremation and Funeral Service are entrusted with final care.
