Leslie E. Mullins Jr., 88, of rural Paw Paw, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 2, 1933, in DeKalb, the son of Leslie E. and Elizabeth (Harbert) Mullins. He married Jane Ping on August 20, 1977, in Arthur, IL.
Les was a lifelong farmer, raising Hereford beef cattle. He was still farming and raising animals until this last month. He was drafted in 1956 into the U.S. Army. He enjoyed talking about his days traveling the country while in the Army. He was a loving grandfather to Trent, 17, and Kayla, 15. He enjoyed keeping up with friends, new and old, and always had time for a conversation, even when others didn't.
Les is survived by his daughter, Leanne (Doug) Dickinson of Compton; grandchildren, Trent and Kayla Hickey; anda sister-in-law, Karen Olscamp.
Les is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Elizabeth Mullins; his wife, Jane Mullins; a sister, Mary Louise Sedlak; and a brother, Richard Mullins.
Visitation will be held from 9;30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the Paw Paw United Methodist Church, 370 Wiley Ave, in Paw Paw. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at the church with Pastor Dana Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Old English Cemetery, Shabbona. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Les' name may be directed to the family for a memorial that will be established.
Arrangements were completed by the Jacobson-Torman Funeral Home in Shabbona.
