LEWIS PERKINS Obituary

Lewis A. Perkins, 88, of Sycamore, Ill., formerly of Milford, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at Bethany Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in DeKalb.
Born Oct. 10, 1919, in Cerro Gordo, he was the son of Lewis A. and Clara (Mikels) Perkins Sr. He married Betty Lieberman on March 17, 1943, in St. Louis, Mo.
Lewis was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He worked as an agronomist for Crow's Hybrid in Milford for many years. Lewis was a member of Milford United Methodist Church.
He is survived by three sons, Michael (Margie) Perkins of Middleton, Ohio, Richard (Cheryl) Perkins of Walla Walla, Wash., and Jim (Nancy) Perkins of Sycamore; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Dorothy Mikels of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1996; and two cousins, Jack and Harold Mikels.
The funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 15, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur. Burial will be at Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to the Milford Library or the American Cancer Society in care of Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL 60178.
