Died: March 25, 2018; in DeKalb, IL

Mary L. Benbow, 76, of DeKalb, Illinois, died Sunday, March 25, 2018, at her home.

She was born April 6, 1941, in Hamtramck, Michigan, the daughter of Charles and Mabel (Rueger) Zeisser. Mary married Ralph Benbow on June 29, 1968, in Warren, Ohio. Mary was formerly employed by Northern Illinois University as a secretary. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in DeKalb.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph; two daughters, Lori (Kevin) Koeb of Vancouver, Washington, Sarah (Aaron) Hoffman of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Julia, Van, and McKenna Koeb, and Tyler, Ivy, and Mia Hoffman; two sisters, Carol (Gerald) Ray of Wausau, Wisconsin, Kathryn (Rich) Siegert of Evansville, Indiana; one brother, Charles (Nancy) Zeisser of Middleton, Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Joan Folland.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 511 Russell Road, DeKalb, with the Rev. Marty Marks and Rev. Ray Krueger officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services, Saturday, March 31, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Mary L. Benbow Memorial Fund, addressed to the Benbow Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, Ltd., P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
