PAUL GRISWOLD Obituary

Paul Allen Griswold, 45 of DeKalb, Ill., died unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 8, 1964, in DeKalb, the son of Ralph and Naomi (Inman) Griswold. He grew up in DeKalb and attended DeKalb schools. He graduated from Kishwaukee College, majoring in diesel mechanics. He had worked for Sanderson Farms, Huftalin Farms and for many years at Sheahan's Equipment in the parts department.
Paul was a quiet, gentle person, who was the family clown and comedian. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors. Paul was an active member of the Northern Illinois Steam Power Club and the Jehovah's Witness congregation.
He is survived by his mother, Naomi Griswold of DeKalb; three brothers, Ralph (Deborah) Griswold of Shabbona, George (Kim) Griswold and Roger Griswold, all of DeKalb; one sister, Susan Griswold of DeKalb; four nieces, Randi (Jeff) Niemeyer of Swansee, Heather (Dave) Goodell of Big Rock, Emily (fiance, Matthew Mols) Griswold of Rochelle and Regan Griswold of DeKalb; one nephew, Cole Griswold of DeKalb; one great-niece, Finlee Niemeyer of Swansee; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Griswold Sr.; two brothers, David Griswold and Ronald Griswold in infancy; his grandparents, Harold and Ilah Griswold and Alvia and Clara Inman.
His funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at the local family-owned and operated Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore. Burial will be at Fairview Park Cemetery, DeKalb. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at Butala Funeral Home and Crematory.
