PAUL LEIFHEIT Obituary
He was born on Sept. 22, 1932, in Waterman, the son of Paul T. and Annabelle (Taggert) Leifheit.
Paul served for 25 years on the Northern Illinois University Security Police Department retiring with the rank of Captain. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the Elk Lodge. Mr. Leifheit also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Bowling Hall of Fame. He had several other hobbies including hunting, fishing, attending local auctions, and will be remembered by many as the owner and operator of the Countryside Pet Motel in Waterman.
Paul is survived by his children, Charles E. (Lori) Leifheit of Lombard and Marla Rae Charlesworth of Phoenix; grandchildren, Erin (Chuck) West, Derek (Shannon) Charlesworth, Kylyn (Craig) Tiihonen, Ian Leifheit, Rachael Leifheit; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Herschel (Donna) Leifheit of Deland, Fla., and William (Julie) Turley of Phoenix; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul T. and Annabelle Leifheit.
Friends may visit from 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, with the funeral service immediately following at noon at Nash-Nelson Funeral Home, 1001 E. Garfield St., Waterman. Interment will be private at North Clinton Cemetery, Waterman.
