Hi,
Mr Wells was my 9th grade art teacher at Niskayuna High in 1963-64. I remember his smile and pleasant demeanor and decided to Google him today. Now a retired physician, I have a little more time to reflect upon people who added something to my life. Sorry I didn't say hello to him 15 years ago. Best wishes to his family members.

Dear Diane and all the Wellses,
Martha and I just returned to DeKalb after a visit to Aaron, Tracy, and Quinn (grandson -- age 4 1/2) in Seattle so we missed the original notice of Phil's passing. We are flooded with remembrances, not the least of which have to do with the Pumpkin Festival Parade. (And of course there were the Bloody Marys and the awesome Chili!) You and Phil were amongst the first people we met in DeKalb, even though you lived in that neighboring burg, whatever its name is. You were warm, welcoming and so much fun to be with. Phil was the very best racconteur and so very talented. He had a talent for teaching and for people -- everybody loved him. We are so sorry about your loss and hope that the love of family, as well as the memory of wonderful times together, will help you all through these difficult times.

Dear Mrs. Wells,
I'm sorry to read of Dr. Wells' passing. My prayers are with you and your family. I can not tell you how often I'm asked if Phil was my dad. Still living here in DeKalb and doing things at NIU people ask me this often. I know from these encounters he is still remembered around NIU! He touched many many lives as you did too.
mine being one of them!

Dear Diane, I knew Philip for so long thru you and the choir. I still remember Christmas Choir parties at your house. He always went out of his way to make me feel welcome. I can still see his big smile and laugh.
He was a wonderful man and I will miss him!
I know that even though you know ahead of time, nobody is really prepared when the time comes.
I will keep you in my prayers and remember we will all be reunited at God's house.
Much love, Heidi Beecher & Floyd
