SALLY KAY COYLE
Born: July 23, 1938 in BARRON, WI
Died: September 25, 2025 in DEKALB, IL
Sally K. Coyle, 87, of Cortland, Illinois, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center.
She was born July 23, 1938, in Barron, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ronald and Joyce (Perusse) Rogers. Sally married Tony A Coyle on February 9, 1957 at the First Baptist Church in DeKalb, Illinois.
Sally was employed as a switchboard operator for DeKalb-Ogle Telephone Company, and then she was an account clerk for DeKalb Feeds and an account tech at NIU prior to her retirement in 1995.
Sally was an avid crafter; she enjoyed sewing, knitting, crafting and camping. She was Reunion Coordinator for DeKalb Twp High School Class of 1956. Sally was an avid supporter of the Annual Cortland Community Garage Sales and opened up her home for family and friends during that event. She also enjoyed spending time with her classmates and her coffee clutch friends. Sally was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts and was involved in Boy Scouts, Little League and PTA. Sally enjoyed entertaining her friends in the neighborhood community every month on her patio. She enjoyed baking for the holidays, especially cinnamon candy and peanut brittle.
She is survived by her sons Robert M. (Lisa) Coyle and Dean A. (Tracy) Coyle both of DeKalb; her grandchildren Brianna (Michael) Wayne, Matthew Coyle, Charlie Coyle and Wyatt Coyle; her great grandson Logan; her sister Connie Taylor of DeKalb.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tony in 2003; her parents; and her brothers Ronnie Rogers and Larry Rogers.
The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb with Rev. Chris Hines officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Rest Cemetery in DeKalb.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Coyle Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
