Theodore R. Schaumburg
Born: January 1, 1950 in Dubuque, IA
Died: September 15, 2025 in Sycamore, IL
Theodore "Ted" R. Schaumburg, 75, of Sycamore, Illinois, passed away on September 15, 2025, in Broadview, Illinois. Born on January 1, 1950, in Dubuque, Iowa, Ted was a caring father and grandfather, known for his generosity and love of the Chicago Bears.
A 1968 graduate of Proviso East High School, Ted furthered his education at Bradley University and Aurora University. His professional life was marked by a successful career in mechanical engineering, where he retired as the Director of Engineering at Driv-Lok in Sycamore in 2005. Ted spent his leisure time wood carving, fishing, and playing cards.
He is survived by his sons, Jason (Heather) Schaumburg and Brian Schaumburg; grandchildren, Corgan Schaumburg and Ava Schaumburg; step-grandchildren, Tyler Coughlin and Ellie Coughlin; sister, Cindi (Scott) Karstens; brother, Jerry (Jane) Schaumburg; and sister, Sharon (Mervin) Visser. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore H. and Winifred Schaumburg.
A celebration of Ted's life will be held with an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, at Grumpy Goat Tavern, 875 Sports Way, in Elgin, Illinois. His life and legacy will be remembered by all who knew him as a beacon of kindness and dedication.
