VERN VINER Obituary
Born Nov. 13, 1922, in Sycamore, the son of Earle and Minnie Viner, he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific in the signal corps.
Bud was employed as the parts manager for Fargo Motors in Sycamore for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Sycamore Veterans of Foreign Wars and a life-long resident of the Sycamore area.
Bud is survived by three nieces, Barbara Dean of Virginia, Kathy Ayers of California and Marianne Smith of Colorado; and his very dear friends, Einer (Rhea) Hillquist and Neil Hillquist, all of Sycamore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Ellis; and three sisters, Jessie, Vera and Helen.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at the local family-owned and -operated Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore. Burial will be at a later date at Ohio Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Monday until the time of service at Butala Funeral Home.

Bud aways had a smile to go along with his wit. It was aways a pleasure to see him when you stopped by the Fargo Motors for gas or a sparkplug. I had often wondered what he must have seen in Sycamore working all though years in the front window of the part department. Rest well, Bud.

I am sorry to hear of Buds' passing. As a young child I remember Bud working for a time with my Grandfather, Darl Hudson, who owned the local DX gas station at that time. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Bud. Brenda Hart (DeKalb, IL)

In My Pocket
