Billie Lewis Ponton

Billie Louis (Owens) Ponton of St. Anne passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the University of Chicago Hospital. Billie was born on March 2, 1944, in Coalgood, Kentucky, the daughter of Bill and Bonnie (Hicks) Owens. Billie was a bartender in St. Anne for many years and finished her career as a realtor. Billie loved spending time with her family and enjoyed having her lemon drops as a treat. She also enjoyed traveling with her sisters on annual sister trips over the years.

Billie is survived by her loving husband, Tim Ponton; 4 children, Robbie (Diane) Posing, Jeff (Tari) Posing, Jill (Shawn) Corriveau, and Sarah (Bart) Berns; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Susie Allie, Mike (Terry) Owens, and Libby (Terry) Posing; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Alice Faye Wrenn and Brenda Dauphin; brothers-in law, John Wrenn and Joe Allie; niece, Denise Seward; and nephew, David Seward.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 1pm to 5pm at the Xline Sportsman Club, located at 4800 E. Exline Club Road. Kankakee, IL., 60901. Jensen Funeral Home in Kankakee is handling the arrangements.
