Dorothy Norvell

Dorothy Norvell, age 90, of Bourbonnais, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. She was born October 28, 1934 in Harvey, the daughter of Frank & Vonda Grace (Sheraden) Sabo. She married Lloyd Norvell. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2014.

Dorothy was a retired nurse. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and reading. She loved her dogs. Most of all, Dorothy loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Kankakee.

Surviving are two sons, Eliot Kutemeier of Bourbonnais and Allen & Lindee Kutemeier of Momence; three daughters, Carolyn Kutemeier of Bradley, Judy & Gary Entwistle of Kankakee, and Connie White of AR; two sisters, Audrey & Daren Lehnert of Grant Park and Wilma Schmitt of FL; twelve grandchildren; and thirty-two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Lloyd Norvell, Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Verlon Kutemeier; daughter, Kathy Jackson; sister, Eleanor Tyson; step-son Jerry Norvell; brother, Arthur Ashline.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life service will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Kankakee.
