Glenn M. Holmes, age 94 of St. Anne, IL, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025. He was born on October 25, 1931, in Kankakee, the son of Derwood V. and Lois (Butz) Holmes. Glenn married Janice Netzel on February 9, 1955. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2021.
Glenn was a dairy farmer for most of his early life and transitioned to selling Real Estate until his retirement. He was a member of Bradley Rotary Club for many years. Glenn and his late wife, Janice enjoyed golfing and fishing in Galena, IL.
Glenn proudly served in the United States Army at the time of policing during the Korean War.
He was never a formal member of a church but was baptized at 92 years of age.
Surviving is one son, Thomas Holmes; one son-in-law, Jon Varboncoeur; three grandchildren, Tyler Holmes, Samantha Holmes, and Steven Donofrio.
Glenn is preceded in death by his wife, Janice; his parents; one daughter, Lisa Varboncoeur; and one sister Doreen Alice.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. service on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, Kankakee. Interment will follow at Kankakee Memorial Gardens, Kankakee.
