Gregory Borggren, age 66, of Kankakee, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026 at his home.
He was born on July 27, 1959, in Kankakee, the son of Fred and Rose Marie (Siwek) Borggren. He married Kimberly Hunte on May 5, 1984 in Momence. Gregory was a graduate of Momence High School. He went on to become a union carpenter. Gregory loved carpentry, as well as doing yard work. He was proud of his Swedish and Polish heritage.
Gregory is survived by his wife, Kimberly Borggren; one son, Joshua Lee Borggren of Prior Lake, MN; one daughter, Ashley Borggren of Bradley; five grandchildren, Emma, Eva, Ellsa, Garrett, and Ava; his father, Fred Borggren of Momence; one sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Gary Duffield of Momence; one brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Elaine Borggren of Momence; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Marie Borggren.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Per his wishes, no service will be held. Arrangements are being handled by Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in Kankakee. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Please sign his guestbook at www.clancygernon.com
