Gregory Hall Obituary
He was born July 19, 1955, in Kankakee, the son of Lynn and Patricia Hall.
A 1973 graduate of Manteno High School, Greg went on to earn both his bachelor's and his master's degrees from Purdue University in Indiana. He had a long and rewarding career in educational leadership, where he made a positive impact on many lives. Greg was passionate about education and dedicated his career to helping others.
He was also deeply committed to his family and friends, always finding joy in spending quality time with his loved ones. Greg enjoyed connecting with nature and relaxing by a fire, baking, cooking and cherishing moments with his children, grandchildren, and his beloved husband, Ali Tabatabai, with whom he shared a loving 29 years together. They were married Oct. 28, 2016, in Zion.
Greg is survived by his husband, Ali; his daughter, Michelle (Kris) Lombardi, of Bourbonnais; son, Daniel Hall, of Kankakee, Tim Power, of Champaign; and daughter, Margaret (Frank) Alexander, of Bradley. He leaves behind six grandchildren, Alexander, Arianna and Addison Lombardi and Sawyer, Lucy and Murphie Alexander. Additionally, Greg is survived by his brother, Gary (Denise Jelinski-Hall) Hall, of Monument, Colo.; sister, Karyn (Wayne) Erwin, of Waterford, Wis.; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also remembered by Mona Richard Hall, of Manteno.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Lynn and Patricia Hall; and his brother, Kevin Hall.
A private service will take place Jan. 4 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais, with Rich Rossiter officiating. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date, and all are welcome to attend.
Greg's memory will be cherished by all who knew him for his kindness, love for his family, and his vibrant spirit.
In lieu of flowers, donations and memorials will be distributed to the charity of the family's choice.
