Phyllis VanderMeer Obituary
Phyllis was the devoted mother of Karen (Tom) Kottwitz and Bonnie VanderMeer; loving grandmother to Kyle and Emily Kottwitz; dear sister of Robert (the late Diane) Holman and David (Fran) Holman; and sister-in-law to Pat Holman and Frieda Holman. She was preceded in death by her brothers Wendell Holman and Jerry Holman and her parents, Robert and Edna Holman. She was previously married to the late Harold VanderMeer.
At various times in her life, she worked at Armor Pharmaceutical and Shapiro Developmental Center, and in her later years, she enjoyed spending her winters in Florida.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, reading, crafting, playing euchre, and doing crossword puzzles - always with a warm heart and a sharp wit. Well known for her famous chocolate brownies.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 1:30 PM until the time of the Funeral Service at 4:30 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard, IL.
