R.C. Parks, age 82, of Kankakee passed away Monday, November 10, 2025 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. He was born June 25, 1943 in Tazewell, TN, the son of Frank & Mossie (Longworth) Parks.
R.C. was in home health care. He enjoyed yard work, planting flowers, and playing with his dog, Dutchess.
Surviving are two sons, Larry Parks of Bourbonnais and Terry Parks of Sarasota, FL; three sisters, Beulah (Darrel) Leach of Grant Park, Bonnie (Delbert) Miller of Kankakee, and Barbara Learned of MS; three brothers, John Parks of MS, Arvillee (Rosann) Parks of MA, and J.C. (Debbie) Parks of MS; and two grandchildren, Austin Parks and Melissa Parks. R.C. was preceded in death by his parents; his longtime companion, DeAnne Pommelow; twelve brothers and sisters; and stepmother, Dorothy Parks.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the Noon funeral service on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Schreffler Funeral Home in Kankakee. Interment will follow at Kankakee Memorial Gardens in Aroma Township.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
