Scott Shipp Obituary

Scott William Shipp, age 61, of Manteno, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL.

Scott was born September 23, 1964, in Kankakee, IL, the son of Donald and Cheryl (Coleman) Shipp. He was the oldest of five children. Scott was a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University. He also served in the Kankakee Army Reserve.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda (Winters) Shipp, his parents, and siblings: Dawn (Greg) Corbin, Elizabeth Head, James (Janet) Shipp, and Robert Shipp. Other family includes 3 nieces, 5 nephews, and 2 great-grandbabies.

Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents: Alfred and Ann Shipp, Betty and John Coleman.

He was an avid fan of musicals which he would attend with his wife. He loved to travel and have a good novel to read. Completing the Chicago Marathon at age 53 was a major achievement that Scott was very proud of.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 6, 2025, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Brown-Jensen Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manteno, IL. Followed by burial at Elmwood Cemetery. Brown-Jensen Funeral Home in Manteno is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local food bank.

He will be missed.
