Thrasilla E. Janczak

Thrasilla E. Janczak, age 99, of Kankakee, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth. She was born on June 21, 1925 in Pilot Township, the daughter of Lloyd and Albia (Denault) Brouillet. She married Florian Janczak on April 15, 1944 in Kankakee. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2020.

Thrasilla was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and birdwatching. She especially loved being with her family. She was a member of St. John Paul II - West Campus.

Thrasilla is survived by four sons, Dave and Angie Janczak of Makanda, Tony and Marla Janczak of Kankakee, Larry and Nancy Janczak of Bonfield, and Ken and Pam Janczak of Seminole, FL; three daughters, Margaret Ravens of Galesburg, Karen and Bob Drake of Kankakee, and Monica Swafford of Irmo, SC; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Thrasilla was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Florian Janczak; two sons, Bill Janczak and Steve Janczak; one grandson, Jeffrey Drake; one brother, Vearl Brouillet; and one sister, Armilla Coury.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 10:45 am on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am at St. John Paul II - West Campus. Rev. Matt Pratscher will celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow at Maternity B.V.M. Cemetery in Bourbonnais.
