Lyson, Anna Marie (nee Godfryd), age 100, passed away on March 26, 2013, of Lockport, IL formerly of Dolton, IL and the Roseland neighborhood. Cherished wife of the late Joseph Lyson Sr.; devoted and loving mother of Joseph G. (the late Marlene) Lyson Jr. and the late Barbara Ann, (the late Joseph) Madon; beloved grandmother "Busia" to Michelle (Don) Sopkin, Melinda (the late Thomas) Gutierrez, Joseph III (Monica) Lyson, Barbara Lyson, Jomarie Lyson, John (Debbie) Lyson, Peter Lyson, Joseph (Cindy) Madon, Andrew (Kim) Madon, Alyssa (Bob) Hillis, Alana (Jeff) Seifert and the late James Lyson; cherished great-busia to Joshua, Zak, Stephanie, Cassidi, Rachael, Jimmy, Joseph IV, Jessica, Jacob, Jacklyn, Gabrielle, Savannah, Alexander, Benjamin, Heather, Elizabeth, Samantha, Michael, Ryne, Nicolette, Taylor, Nicholas, Kilie, Andrew, Aiden, Carson, Drake and Arden; adored great-great- busia to Logan, Landon, Nolan, Riley, Austin, Lillianna, Angela, Natalie, Cole, Jason, Aerial, Charlett and Alexander; fond sister of the late Bernice (the late Val) Giczewski, the late Jacob (the late Valerie) Godfryd, the late Edward (the late Janet) Godfryd, the late Mary (the late Stanley) Fryzel, the late Stanley (Ann) Godfryd, Jean (the late Robert) VerHaar; fond aunt to many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Anna was born in the Roseland neighborhood on January 4, 1913 to the late Jacob and the late Mary (nee Twardowski) Godfryd. Anna was a long time Member of the Polish Women's Alliance of America, Polish Roman Catholic Union of America, and the Polish National Alliance. During her lifetime, Anna has worked at Ethyl Products Co., Formold Plastics Division, Harper Wyman Co., and retired from VCA Corporation in 1977. Anna enjoyed being the reporter for the Formold Injector Newspaper for her division during her employment. Anna was a spirited and passionate woman. Anna has touched so many lives in so many ways. We will always remember all the fun times we all had at her Cottage in Cedar Lake, IN, her famous pound cake, and most of all her beautiful Christmas Eve dinners where she would host the entire family wearing her little Santa hat. Many will treasure those dinners.She was a beautiful person who devoted her life to her family. Anna will continue to live in the hearts of many generations. Visitation Sunday, 2:00-6:00 P.M. I didn't know Anna Marie Lyson, only her grand-daughter Alana Seifert and her great grand-children Drake & Arden. From the wonderful things Alana has told us, she will truly be missed by many. My prayers go out to all the family & friends who knew her and will miss her dearly...
