Fred was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on Christmas 1953. He died suddenly at his residence in Homewood, Illinois on October 23, 2022, at the age of 67. He was a graduate of Rich Central High School Class of 1973.

I knew Fred for many years and will miss talking about his old days on the railroad. He had a great memory and could talk on any topic. Good memories of getting together for pizza on Saturday nights and having him come over to the house. A real decent guy that will be missed by many. He is in Heaven now with his parents.

Fred was kind, decent and very willing to help a friend in need. I spent many, many days together with Fred when we were younger running model trains, chasing trains and reading about trains in the many, many books in his wide ranging collection. Fred died much too young and will be sorely missed by all of his friends. Everyone had great respect for Fred. God Bless in Heaven with your parents...

I remember the times Fred would come down with his family to visit. We all had such a good time and Fred was always so kind. You will be missed cousin!

Fred was a ring bearer in my parents' wedding and a fun older cousin. When the whole "team" would come down to Litchfield he sometimes stayed with us. I remember going with my brother Bob as he drove my Grandma around on Sunday drives. Rest In Peace cousin.
