Dear Mr. and Mrs. Bamonti,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences for the loss of your lovely daughter, Gianna. Although mere words could never heal the deep ache that you must feel in your hearts, I hope and pray that you and your family will find solace in the days ahead.
Gianna and I first met many years ago at the Drake Hotel. Like other employees there, I was impressed. Gianna's intelligence, beauty, humor, and gracious demeanor made her a perfect fit for a grand, old hotel. I now realize that it was also the other way around.
The Drake, a long-time, home-away-from-home for visiting royalty, was a perfect fit for Gianna. To see her walk through the lobby and interact with guests and colleagues was a lesson in a kind of old-world elegance and refinement that one rarely sees anymore. From the very beginning, it was clear that she was that rare gem - a natural concierge. It was also only natural that she was recognized for her gifts and her hard work.
As a member of Les Clefs d'Or, she earned her wings the gold keys that she proudly wore on her lapels. A multilingual angel of mercy to weary travelers from all walks of life, she was kind, funny, smart, poised, creative, ethical, resourceful, and unflappable. In the very best sort of way, this regal young lady walked into that hotel like she owned the joint. And once she set foot in the door, one thing was certain: the Drake Hotel and the many people who met Gianna would never be the same
Your cherished daughter Gianna was an angel who touched many lives, including my own. There will never be another one like her. She will live forever in heaven, and in the hearts and minds of those who knew her and loved her.
Good night, sweet princess, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
