John R. Fazzini. Age 85. Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 1, 2023. Mokena resident formerly of Chicago Heights. Graduate of Bloom High School Class of 1955. Graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University Class of 1959 receiving his Bachelor of Arts. Member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. Graduate of Loyola University Class of 1973 receiving his Master's Degree in Business Administration. Retired in 2000 after 41 years of service as Vice President of Administration at Calumet Steel Company in Chicago Heights. Former member of Olympia Fields Country Club. John enjoyed travel, golf, and tennis. Husband for 25 years of Gayle nee McCullough. Step-father of Jeff (Alison) Meek and Doug (Liz) Meek. Loving grandfather of Emily, Sara, Hannah, Kate, Ryan, and Maggie Meek. Brother of Larry (Barbara) Fazzini, the late Rosemary Knoop, Jean Knuth and Carl "Chuck" Fazzini. Uncle, cousin, and friend of many. Memorial visitation at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W 14th Street (US Rt 30, 3 blks E of Western Ave), Chicago Heights on Saturday March 18, 2023, from 1:00pm until time of memorial service 4:00pm. Private Inurnment Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial in John's name to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL, 60431 (www.lightways.org) or Illinois Wesleyan Fund, 1312 Park Street, Bloomington, IL, 61701 (www.iwu.edu/giving/how/annualfund.html) would be appreciated by the Fazzini family.
