Johnny was my 1st friend I met when we moved to Illionois. As six year olds we spent countless hours playing football and baseball in his backyard. We lived next door to each other and for years we were like brothers and best friends. I will always remember his athletic ability, his great smile and his infectious personality. I have always had a special place in my heart for his friendship and the fond memories we shared as young boys growing up in South Chicago. I cherish those memories in the backyard as I still see him running around me with football tucked under his arm as I attempted to catch him. That infectious smile Johnny flashed, as he would turn to me as he crossed the goal line still lives on. I will miss you my good friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time of loss.
