I am deeply saddened by the passing of my favorite Oriole growing up as a kid in Baltimore. Not only did I see Milt pitch at old Memorial Stadium but many times one could run into him in stores or shopping centers around Timonium, Maryland where he and our family lived. He was a nice guy and I was sorry to see him traded.
Rest in peace Milt, I will continue to treasure your baseball cards and other memorabilia that I have accumulated over the years. My sympathies to his family; he was a truly great person.
Fondly, Mike Valle (hondo)

Milt was my inspiration in authoring "Baseball's Golden Greeks"in 1998. Greek-Americans everywhere will always be proud of Milt.
Ted Williams told me of Milt in 1996: "He had a hard throw and was one of the best pitchers in his big league career."
My sincere condolences to his family.
His Memory Will be eternal!

To Judi and all of Milt's Family:
My sincerest condolences at the passing of Milt last week. I was very foturnate to see him pitch for the Chicago Cubs and was honored to meet him, talk with him and call him a friend. He was truly a geniune man and always a pleasure to see at the Cubs' Conventions and of course at Wrigley Field. We both knew it should have been a "perfect game!" I will miss him and was hoping to attend the services Saturday, however, was unable to get out there. My deepest sympathy to all who mourn his loss. May he rest in in God's loving arms. Amen.
Sincerely,

I am sadden to hear of the passing of Uncle Milt on Tuesday. I was just talking about him to Kerry Wood on Monday and how he gave me my first baseball glove back in 1974. Not that many kids can say they had a baseball legend like Milt Pappas being your pitching coach in high school. I guess dad and Uncle Milt can finally talk baseball again rest in peace uncle Milt.

Judi and Family,
I met Milt about 10 years ago and we sat and talked for hours when I told him that my Grandmother was a devout Cubs fan and that he was her favorite. I then went to visit him at his home where he signed his books for me and my friends. I will always remember his kindness to me and my dad whenever we got together. He was kind and so loved the game of baseball. May you find peace in knowing that Milt was a true person and in remembering the memories you have with him. My prayers are with you and your family during this hard time.

Rest in peace Milt. You were a very good pitcher and a fierce competitor. Your dangling arms on the mound were copied by little league players throughout Chicago. Including this one. I watched your no hitter on that Sunday afternoon the day before the start of the new school year and it pulled me out of the end of summer vacation dumps. May you rest in peace and pitch that perfect game in Heaven.

An outstanding career and a true gentleman.
My only memory of Milt was that he struck me out three times on nine pitches & I don't remember swinging once. Cooley Vs. Cody @ Butzel Field. After the third time, he smiled and said sorry about that. I knew then that he was on a course to the "Bigs"

As a fellow Greek-American growing up in the "Golden Age" of baseball, Milt Pappas was one of my heroes. A few years back I wrote to him to let him know how he had a special place in my heart. The photo he signed is a prized possession. RIP Milt. Thank you for the beautiful memories
