Dalton King Obituary

Dalton A. King, Sr., beloved son, brother, father, was called to the Lord on this day 15th of September in 2018. He was born May 26, 1939 in Crane, Texas to Dalton and Bernice King. He is preceded by his father Dalton King and mother Bernice King. Dalton lived his life well as an oilman, Texan, and self-proclaimed outlaw. He moved his family to Aztec in 1964 from Iraan, Texas in search of a better life for his family. He was a prominent figure in the San Juan Basin and was highly respected by those who worked with him. Dalton had a love for the way of life that enveloped the oil and gas fields. He was an avid reader of the stories of the old west and men like Jesse James. It was a freedom of living that he sought and found.
As with all adversities in his life, Dalton came at his illness with both guns drawn. Unfortunately, even the toughest fighters are eventually confronted with an insurmountable opponent. His presence will be greatly missed and the world is a lesser place without him. However, we are consoled by the end of his suffering. A man of great warmth and deep love for friends and family, he will unquestionably be accepted with open arms by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Dalton is survived by his brother Charles King; special friend Sharon Sichi; children Dalton King, Jr. (Leona), Sharon Hannah (Lynn McCoy), Rebecca Hawbecker (Bert), William King; grandchildren Cody Hannah, Shannon Dorsett, EJ King, Ciera King, Lisa King, Forest Hawbecker, Logan Hawbecker; great-grandchildren Gabrielle Hannah, Lorelai Hannah, and Maveryk Dorsett.
There will be a funeral service on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 10:00am at Farmington Funeral Home, 2111 W. Apache St. in Farmington. Interment will follow at the Aztec Cemetery. For those who wish to express their condolences can do so at www.farmingtonfuneral.com.

I enjoyed working with DALTON. He was a man of his word. He would always do more than his share.
